Hi, I'm Julia

Specializing in participatory research, program design, and developmental evaluation, my work fosters systems change through diversity, equity, and inclusion. Grounded in both academia and practice, I am passionate about transforming "power-over" to "power-with" systems, inspired by intersectional feminism, partnerism, and Indigenous methodologies.

Seeding transformation and nourishing change for sustainable futures.

My Research

My research centers on community-based and participatory methods, aligning with community priorities to find collaborative solutions. Inspired by my experience in the non-profit sector and as a social enterprise co-founder, my work focuses on transformative leadership aimed at creating sustainable futures that balance economic, social, and environmental goals—often called the "triple bottom line."

Currently, my UNB-funded project explores the experiences of women and non-binary leaders in emerging social enterprises across Atlantic Canada, bringing an intersectional feminist lens to sustainable leadership. I also conduct auto-ethnographic research within Transform Practice Non-profit Co-op, capturing insights from inside the social enterprise ecosystem.
